Save the Babies Campaign

Is saving babies any less significant than saving endangered animals or protecting wildlife habitat?

To listen to the passionate animal rights activists and advocates you might think that they somehow view animals in higher regard than humans.

And you would often be correct in that assumption.

An astounding number of people when asked if they had to choose between saving a drowning child and their drowning pet actually said they would try to save their pet first.

This is mind numbing on several levels...least of which is the elevation of animal life over human life.

I love animals as much as anyone and have grieved terribly over the loss of a loyal pet..but the loss of a child (any child) is indescribable.

As I researched this article I couldn't help but notice the shear devotion to animal rights and the lengths to which many go to protect those rights...even risking their own personal well being at times.

This in and of itself is not necessarily a bad thing. I for one am all for protecting animals from abuse and neglect.

What troubles me however is the matter of degree to which many activists will go to threaten and ignore human rights for the sake of animals.

We hear cries of "Save the Whales"..."Save the Baby Seals"..."Save the Spotted Owls"..."Save the Sea Turtles"...on and on often to the exclusion of human needs and concerns.

So...I am proposing a Save the Babies Campaign to renew awareness of our moral and societal obligation to protect the rights of the unborn human child...along with all children. This would require returning to the concept of respect for all innocent human life.

Our young ladies need to realize the horror of leaving their newborns in dumpsters or trying to flush them down toilets...for any reason.  And not through condemnation, but with compassion and loving guidance.

If our message(s) reach just one person who has a change of heart and prevents the waste of even a single innocent human life...then it will be worth the effort. 

We all need to take responsibility for allowing ourselves to become so calloused as to not even flinch when we hear such true stories in the news...however, don't we often tend to react more emotionally when we hear about a dog or cat being hurt or mistreated?

There is something terribly wrong with this picture.

Now...back to business.

The Save the Babies Campaign is simply a method to raise awareness and provide a common forum...through this website...for you to voice your concerns, solutions and prayers to help protect all children...especially the unborn who need our help the most at the moment.

I also request that those who have similar types of websites, blogs and/or specific topic pages to include a  forum/bulletin board such as mine to give everyone a chance to voice their views and concerns about the plight of our children...born and unborn.
