Baby Birthday

When asked how many birthdays we've had , we usually respond with the number of actual years we have been on God's green earth.

However, the true or more accurate answer is simply "one"!

We have only had one day of birth or "birthday". What we actually celebrate is the anniversary of that original birth day.

So why is that such a big deal?

Well, one of the ways we mark time is by anniversaries...to which birthdays fall into that category.

From those timelines we are able to track specific milestones in our baby's life as well as events and happenings in our own lives.

When we hear about the miracle of birth...it truly is a miraculous event.

When any of us see our own child coming into this world, it is hard to imagine that this beautiful baby was any less human before the actual birth process. Yet, that is exactly what many so-called "enlightened" people say today throughout the world.

Many innocent young ladies and wonderful, but naive women everywhere are being told by self-serving individuals that the unborn child is nothing more than a piece of useless cell matter that can be removed or destroyed like a benign tumor.

Nothing could be further from the truth!

No "useless cell matter" or "benign tumor"...left untreated and undisturbed will grow into a beautiful little creature called "baby". So any moral thinking person must ask the question..."what choice do I really have in my pregnancy?"

Life was never meant to be free of difficult decisions, nor was it meant to be free of pain, hurt or inconvenience.

It's no doubt frightening to have an unplanned pregnancy, especially looking at the impact on the expectant mother regarding her age (young or older), her education, her career, her marital status, her health, her social and/or financial status.

However, instead of looking for the easiest way out of a tough situation, why not do what is best for mother AND baby. Unfortunately, with our legal system making it so easy to terminate a pregnancy, wouldn't it be a better alternative to give all the support possible to mother and baby to assure both have the best opportunities to live equally full and free lives.

Destroying an innocent human life should never be an option.

A woman's choice as to what she does with her body should never preclude the unborn child's right to live. After all, who speaks for the child in such situations? Where are the "human rights activists" and child advocates while thousands of voiceless, helpless and innocent babies perish daily at the hands of those who should be looking out for their health, safety and welfare?

Child Protective Services (CPS) can legally take a child away from parents who endanger him/her in any way.

So, why can't we as a society expect the unborn child to have the same rights?...especially when it's little life is on the line.

There are many loving couples looking to adopt babies and to give them the opportunities in life which the biological mother may not be able, or want to provide. This would seem to be a win/win situation without the devastating heartache of losing another precious baby to "convenience", fear or political expediency.

And for the record this article is not meant to chastise, berate or demonize any woman (or man) who has contributed to the decision to terminate an innocent life for any reason. That is a personal moral issue with you and God..who by the way is most forgiving if simply asked.

Mistakes are made...and they are forgiven. This is too important to keep repeating the same mistake over and over.

After all...everyone is entitled to a birthday...
